What data we hold
When you sign in with Facebook, X, or Google, thx.so receives your name, email address, and the provider's user ID. If you've used thx.so further, we may also hold:
- Your slug, display name, tagline, avatar, and cover preset
- Posts, tiers, goals, and thank-you messages you've created
- Records of tips received (amount, date, supporter's optional message)
- Stripe Connect account ID — payment data itself lives at Stripe, not us
How to delete your account
You can request full deletion of your thx.so account and personal data through either of the following:
- Sign in at thx.so/auth/signin, open Account → Danger zone, and tap Delete my account. This is the fastest path — deletion is queued immediately.
- Email us at privacy@thx.so from the email address on your account. Include your slug (e.g.
thx.so/kenji) so we can verify ownership.
What gets deleted
Within 30 days of your request, we remove:
- Your authentication record (email, password hash, OAuth identifiers)
- Your public profile, posts, tiers, goals, and thank-you messages
- Your private profile fields (display name, tagline, links)
- Cached profile images and uploaded media
What we have to keep
Some records are retained for legal and accounting reasons:
- Transaction records — Stripe holds payment records for at least seven years to satisfy tax law. We keep references to those records (not card details) for the same period.
- Tax invoices — issued under Japanese denshi-chōbo-hozon-hō retention rules.
- Audit logs — minimal logs (account creation, signin, deletion request) are kept for up to 90 days for security investigations.
If you connected via Facebook
Deleting your thx.so account also breaks the Facebook login link — Facebook will no longer have an active connection to thx.so for your account. To revoke Facebook's permissions separately at any time, visit Facebook Settings → Apps and Websites and remove thx.so.
Response time
We acknowledge deletion requests within 72 hours and complete deletion within 30 days. If your request is delayed beyond 30 days, we'll email you with the reason and a revised timeline.
