Instagram AutoDM on thx.so can write replies two ways. Fixed text is a template you write once. AI-written replies are composed for each fan from your instructions, your bio and what they said. This post explains where the line is and how the plans treat it.
What counts
Each Instagram reply or DM the AI writes for you counts once. Each AI preview you run in the automation editor counts once against its own smaller allowance. Fixed-text replies never count, on any plan, no matter how many fire.
If a rule uses AI and the allowance is used up, the rule falls back to its fixed text if you wrote any, so links keep going out. The allowance resets on the first of each month, and your dashboard shows exactly where you are.
Why an allowance at all
Every AI reply is a real call to a language model, which costs money per reply. A flat "unlimited" would either be priced for the heaviest user or quietly throttled. An allowance keeps the free tier genuinely free and lets the price grow with usage, which is the fairest way we could find to charge for it.
The plans
- Free is the whole product with a 0% platform fee: your custom slug, tips, memberships, posts, goals, the shop with downloads and bookings, AutoDM with unlimited fixed-text replies, 50 AI-written replies a month, overlays, embed and Discord roles.
- Pro is $8 a month, or $80 a year: 500 AI-written replies a month, checkout without thx.so attribution, and analytics with checkout funnels.
- Business is $25 a month: 2,000 AI-written replies a month, priority support with a named contact, and everything in Pro. Team features are on the roadmap and listed as such on the pricing page.

Getting the most from the allowance
- Use fixed text for pure link drops. It's instant and free, and tokens like
{name}keep it personal. - Save AI for triggers where fans ask real questions, like a DM keyword rule or comments on a launch post.
- Give the AI the facts that matter in its instructions: price, what's included, who it's for. A good instruction produces a reply you'd send yourself.
- Scope comment rules to specific posts when a post is likely to go far.
Changing plans
Upgrade from the Plan page in your dashboard with a card. Renewals are charged monthly or yearly, you can cancel at any time and keep the plan until the period ends, and if a payment fails we retry and email you before anything changes.
